The App brings the rich features and functionality you currently experience with your desk phone to your mobile devices. Enjoy the great features of SmartVoice on-the-go, including High-Definition voice and video calling as well as the ability to seamlessly switch calls between your mobile, desktop and Shaw SmartVoice desk phone.
Features:
- Unified Communications: The SmartVoice App is a Unified Communications client used for voice and video calling, instant messaging, presence, desktop sharing, conferencing, and voicemail access.
- HD Voice and Video calling: Using the SmartVoice App, Shaw Business customers can make HD voice and video calls to other users with HD capable devices and services.
- Call Pull: You can seamlessly pull a call that was received on your desk phone onto your mobile device, tablet or desktop.
- Conference calls: You can instantly create conference calls. For participants within your organization, you can use the My room functionality to chat or dial into the conference from the app, no credentials required. For participants external to the company you can email them the conference details and they can dial in.
- Contacts: Make calls from your Local address book or company directory.
- Instant Messaging: connect directly with co-workers through chat
- Presence – See the status, location and time zone of contacts
- Company Directory: have simple, searchable access to all company contacts in the directory
- Voicemail: check your voicemail through the app to ensure you never miss an important call
Functions:
- This App will retrieve running apps to determine if the application is in the foreground or background state in order to act differently when receiving incoming messages.
- The app does not make independent decisions as to preferred network and will utilize whatever network the device is currently connected too (either Wi-Fi or Cellular).
- If the device loses connectivity to the network the call will be dropped
- If the device transitions networks (from Wi-Fi to Cellular or Cellular to Wi-Fi) the call will be dropped
- If the device transitions between different Wi-Fi or Cellular networks the call will be dropped
- If the device transitions between different Wi-Fi access points within the same network the call may be dropped
- If the device transitions between different cellular towers the call will remain unaffected providing sufficient cellular reception is available.
During installation the app will ask for access to your:
- Contacts to allow contact name display during call
- Microphone to allow two way communications
- Camera to allow video calling (if selected)
The App will also reroute outgoing emergency calls to cellular network
